Hornsby is a suburb located in the Upper North Shore in the New South Wales State of Australia. The suburb is just 12 miles away from the northwest central business district of Sydney, with an administrative headquarters in Hornsby Shire. The origin of the name is traced to Samuel Henry Horne. Samuel Henry was a convict who eventually changed his ways and became a constable. The constable was famous for apprehending MacNamara and Dalton on 22 June 1830.
