Redcliffe is situated in the Moreton Bay Region. Moreton Bay is located in the northeast of Brisbane in Queensland. Redcliffe is a residential suburb and a seaside resort that has been quite popular since the 1880s. After it was established on the 13th of September 1824, this suburb has soared in population. It grew at a rate of 12.8% from 9200 in 2011 and currently stands at 10,373 according to the 2016 census. Redcliffe got its name from what explorer Matthew Flinders referred to as ‘Red Cliff Point’ in 1799 because red-colored cliffs could be sighted from Moreton Bay. 

Indigenous Ningy Ningy people occupied Redcliffe way before the Europeans settled in. This suburb was the very first colony in Queensland but was soon abandoned. This happened when the Europeans moved to Brisbane. Another important thing to note is that noteworthy and highly successful Bee Gees music group emanated for Redcliffe.
