Ashmore is one of the Gold Coast's most popular suburbs in Queensland, Australia. This suburb is a wonderful residential location characterized by single and family-sized homes. Ashmore is a suburb in the city of Gold Coast, Queensland. It has a relatively small population that has been growing over the last few years. Currently, Ashmore has a little over12,000 residents if we are to go by the data of the last population census.
This town has a long history. In 1887, it was called Ashmore and Benowa, comprising 5 subdivisions, a Nerang River plantation, and Benowa Estate. Land in the area was advertised and auctioned for sale by James R. Dickson. Part of the properties included in the sale were buildings and a sugar manufacturing plant.
Then in the 1970s, a property investor from Sydney by the name of Jim Donnellon bought and developed a housing estate in the area called the Ashmore Village. Subsequently, the Ashmore Plaza Centre was developed by the end of the 70s.
The development of Ashmore Village eventually spurred economic and infrastructural growth in the area, so much so that a school called Ashmore State School was established on the 23rd of January 1978. Kids will find this park truly enchanting. The playground is located at the base of an enormous gnarled tree. The branches of this tree provide much-needed shade from the blazing sun. The Dorrington Park Enchanted Forest features a talking toadstool, a climbing web to reach the House of Hex, and a good luck store for play-shopping.
