Belmont is a suburb situated in the outer part of Brisbane in Queensland. It covers a 10km² land area and was established in the year 1894. It is situated 13km from Brisbane and has a population of about 4,374 according to the 2016 Census of Population and Housing in Australia. Old Cleveland Road and the Gateway Motorway, which are main roads in Brisbane, cross at an intersection in Belmont.
There are blocks of bush and rural properties that are largely underdeveloped in Belmont. Notwithstanding, some developed residential estates also exist. Indigenous people of Belmont camped in creeks and hills and also hunted there. This happened before and after the Europeans settled in the area.
