Carina is a suburb in the city of Brisbane, Queensland. This suburb may be small in size, but it is densely populated with more than 11,000 residents since the last time of counting. Carina was not occupied by the races that are found there today. This part of Brisbane was once inhabited by Jagera inhabitants who were a subset of the Murris.

The Jageras lived here for generations until the 1850s, when the first set of Europeans began to arrive the area. When the Europeans arrived, they mainly used the land for timber and farming. Over time the name changed to Carina, which was the name of an estate constructed in Creek Road at the time. The property was owned by Ebenezer Thorne, who named it Carina after his young daughter, Kate Carina.
