Fairfield is located in Brisbane City with a population of close to 3000. This area has an illustrious immigration history which began in 149 when the Grime brothers, Samuel and George Grimes, arrived in Queensland abroad a ship called The Chaseley. The ship was chartered by Dr. John Dunmore Lang. Nothing was heard about them until 1857 when they set up an arrowroot farm on the area which they called Fairfield.
After establishing the settlement, the area began to attract settlers, gradually culminating in the setting up of the Fairfield Baptist Church on Christmas Eve in 1865. In 1914, a Railside Estate was established with 28 divisional residential lots on land bordered by Bell Lane, which is now called Bledisloe. Among the notable events that occurred in the area is the 1974 floods which affected the area and caused a partial evacuation of the area.
