Mill Park is a suburb in the northeast corner of Melbourne, Victoria. The city is approximately 18 km away from the business district of Victoria's capital city. As of the last census conducted in the country in 2016, Mill Park recorded a population of more than 29,000 residents, a few thousand down from the data recorded in the previous census, which showed a figure well over 30,000.
This suburb shares a boundary with Epping to the north and South Morang to the south; it is also close to Rivergum and Blossom Park to the east. Other locations close to Mill Park are Thomastown and Bundoora.
The city was named after Henry Miller, who lived in the area at the start of the 19th century. Mr. Miller bred racehorses for a living and was also a dairy farmer living in a settlement that houses 65 residents.
By the 1960'ss, the area's geography was altered as a new quarry site opened in 1964. This development transformed Mill Park from a solely agricultural town into one with a diverse economy.
Severe bushfires affected the area's growth in 1957 after the area was subdivided into a much smaller allotment. However, after the setback, the area continued to develop, with real estate locations springing up everywhere.
In addition to all these developments, several other reserves have been developed in the area. First, there is a freeway reservation area extending from the north to the south. Then an east end extends from the East of Mill Park all the way to the border of Plenty River. Finally, off Plenty River are two main paths, namely the Darebin Creek Trail and the Henderson Road Drain Train.
