Conveyancing is the transfer of the legal title of real estate property from one person to another. It might sound easy, but this is not always the case. The exchange of contracts involves the signing of two copies of a contract of sale by both parties. A lot of paperwork is usually involved. You might also need to meet with the lawyer of the other party regularly. Enlisting the services of a conveyancing lawyer will take these tough processes off your neck.
Your conveyancer should oversee the settlement process on your behalf. This will be done while protecting your best interest. For someone new to the buying or selling of properties in Altona, costly mistakes are likely to be made. An experienced conveyancing lawyer will forestall such mistakes and assist in troubleshooting problems as they emerge.
Choosing the right Altona conveyancing service is essential. For the seller of the property, a conveyancer would represent you in all dealings with the buyer. Helping you to complete legal documents is also part of what your conveyancing lawyer will engage in.
For the buyer, the conveyancing lawyer will assist in researching the property and its certificate of title. The conveyancer will also help prepare and lodge legal documents like the contract of sale and memorandum of transfer. LEAD Conveyancing Services have the right professionals to assist you.
Altona has an interesting history. Before the Europeans arrived, the Kurung-Jang-Balluk Aboriginal people of the Woiwurrung clan resided in the area. With the arrival of the Europeans, Altona became a permanent settlement in 1842. This suburb was named by Frederick Taegtow. He named it after Altona in Hamburg, Germany, where he hailed from.
Taegtow had the belief that coal could be found in the area. This made him form the Williamstown (Taegtow) Prospecting Company in the area in the year 1881. The economy of this suburb was based on coal mining from 1908 to 1919. When open-cut mining was developed in the Latrobe Valley in 1930, the mining in Altona was brought to an end. Now the economy is driven by local industry, including petrochemical storage, manufacturing, and distribution.
65% of the residents of Altona were originally born in Australia. The remaining percentage includes people born in England, New Zealand, Malta, and India. Altona upholds its culture strongly. The Altona Beach Festival holds every year at the Logan Reserve precinct. Two railway stations service this suburb.
