"BEST Customer Service in Conveyancing" Award Winner for 2023 & 2024 (Word Of Mouth)
A cost agreement is a service agreement between you and your lawyer for the service that your lawyer is providing you. It should detail in writing the charges that your lawyer will apply for their service. If a fixed fee is offered, it will contain the fixed fee in dollar value and the scope of work that is involved for that fee.
A cost disclosure is a document required to be provided to clients to inform them of their rights as protected by the law for payments over a certain amount. If you have not received the cost disclosure, then you may not be required to make any payment to your lawyers until it is assessed by a Costs Assessor.
Liability limited by a scheme approved under Professional Standards Legislation
